mission of the Omro Police Department is to enhance the quality
of
life in our city by working in partnership with our community and
in
accordance with constitutional rights to enforce the laws, preserve
peace, reduce fear, and provide for a safe environment.
History
of the Omro Police Department
The
early years of law enforcement was handled by a Village
Marshal.
The position was bid out and paid a range of $10.00
to $430.00 per
month,
with the low bidder getting
the position. From old records
appeared
names of Frank Stanley, Grant Chase, Fred Gehrke, Leon
Hoover, Hiram Coats, Kemper Goss and
Max Bower.
Omro
