Free Swim Lesson Eligibility FAQs

Who is eligible for free swim lessons?
Any student enrolled in the Omro School District System is eligible. Proof of
enrollment is required at the time of swim lesson registration. Proof of enrollment is considered to be either the most recent report card or a letter stating that the child is or will be enrolled in school from the Omro Elementary School office or HB Patch Office.

What should I bring for proof of enrollment?
If your child is a current student, please provide the most recent report card or obtain a letter from the office at HB Patch or Omro Elementary School stating your child’s status in the Omro School District. If your child will be enrolled in the
Omro School District for the upcoming year, you may bring a letter from HB Patch or Omro Elementary School. Please note that proof of enrollment is required at the time of registration.

Are home-schooled students residing within the Omro School District
considered enrolled in the Omro School District System?
Yes, they qualify for the free swim lessons provided that they are signed up for the Omro Summer School Program and can provide proof of enrollment at the time of swim lesson registration.

Are students enrolled in another school district but residing within the Omro
School District System eligible for free swim lessons?
No, they must be enrolled in the Omro School District System.

Recreation Registration FAQs:

Q: Can I register for swim lessons through mail or at the Omro Area Community Center?
A: You may only sign up for swim lessons on April 5th from 6-8pm. If you are unable to sign up during this time, you may sign up for swim lessons once the pool opens for the season.

Q: How does my child qualify for FREE swim lessons?
A: Your child must be a student in the Omro Schoo...l District to receive one free swim lesson. Remember, you must bring proof that your child is a student in the district, such as a report card or a letter from the school.

Q: How do I sign up for baseball or softball?
A: You must sign up in person at the Omro Area Community Center on April 5th from 6-8pm, or refer to Omro's website for other dates that you may register in person. If your child is registering for T-ball or Coach Pitch, you may mail the checks to: Lora Johnson, 8291 Tritt Road, Omro, WI 54963

Q: How do I register for golf, soccer, or Youth Futures?
A: You may stop in at the Omro Area Community Center on April 5th from 6-8pm to register your child for any of these activities. You may also do it in person between the hours of 8am-4pm Monday-Friday.
