![]() Wisconsin Department of Transportation to reconstruct Highway 116 from the intersection Highway 21 north to the city limits in 2018. This will include water, sewer, storm sewer, curb and gutter and sidewalks.
Starting on March 12th, Hwy 116 (West/East River Drive) will be closed from just East of the bridge to the Pine St intersection to all but local traffic (you must live or work there or be travelling to a home or business on the route to travel in the construction zone). You will not be able to turn right onto Highway 116. Access from the North to homes and businesses will be maintained throughout the project. Starting around July 9th, for 30 days, the bridge will be open to northbound traffic through to Spruce Street only. Detours are on the right of this page. During that time, you will not be able to turn left onto Highway 21. The final section of the project, Pine Street to city limits, will be a mill and overlay only, with some intersection improvements. The walk bridge will be accessible at all times.
