8.8.22 Primary Elections will be held at the Omro Area Community Center on Tuesday, August 9th as this location is the City of Omro’s designated polling place for all city voters.  The Community Center building is safe for use according to the Omro Fire Department and JF Ahern Co: Mechanical, Fabrication & Fire Protection Services who maintains the fire suppression services for all city buildings.  Both the fire alarm system and the sprinkler system are fully functional and safe for occupancy.  The only part of the fire suppression system not functioning properly is the 911 auto dialer.  In the event of a fire the alarms will sound, and the sprinkler system will engage, but a phone call will need to be made to 911 to report the fire.
The City of Omro is actively working with Ahern Co. to make the necessary repairs after the council authorizes the use of non-budgeted funds at the August 16th council meeting.
