Business Improvement District (BID)

In 1988, the property owners in this district agreed to impose a tax on their properties, called a Business Improvement District (BID), where that pool of money would go back to into that specific area for improvements. The money is collected by the City and governed by a BID Board of Directors made up of area property owners and businesses.

Omro's BID extends along both the north and south sides of the Fox River.  This district includes what is considered Downtown Omro and extends throughout most of the C-1 Central Commercial zoning along the south side of the Fox River (from Washington Street on the west side to Industrial Drive on the east side).  To the north of the Fox River, the BID is found on North Webster Street, extending to East River Drive, and ends at the north end of Willow Street.

The residents of Omro do not have to travel far to have their needs met because the BID is home to a wide variety of Omro businesses. Local restaurants, arts, crafts, goods are also staples in downtown Omro, so visitors and day vacationers can stay for a bite to eat then bring a unique find home.
