Become an Election Day Poll Worker
The City of Omro encourages residents to participate in the election process by voting and by serving their community as Election Day poll workers. Poll workers play an essential role in helping ensure that elections are conducted in an open, accurate, secure, and fair manner.
Serving as a poll worker is a meaningful way to support democracy, assist voters, and become directly involved in local government. Poll workers help with a variety of Election Day duties, including greeting voters, checking voter information, issuing ballots, assisting with registration updates, maintaining election records, and helping ensure that all voters are treated with courtesy and respect.
Training and Compensation
Poll workers receive training prior to serving at the polls. Training is paid at a rate of $10.00 per hour. Election Day compensation is also provided for hours worked at the polling place.
Who Can Serve
Poll workers must be qualified electors of the county in which they serve and must be able to perform election duties in a professional, impartial, and respectful manner. Attention to detail, reliability, and a willingness to assist the public are important qualities for this position.
