
The City of Omro in conjunction with the School District of Omro is initiating a one year trial school crossing guard program beginning with the fall school session.
The Omro Police Department is seeking applicants for school crossing guard positions. The position oversees the safe and efficient crossing of school children at designated marked intersections.
Hours
Monday: 6:50 - 7:50 am 2:50 - 3:50 pm
Tuesday: 6:50 - 7:50 am 2:50 - 3:50 pm
Wednesday: 6:50 - 7:50 am 1:50 - 2:50 pm
Thursday: 6:50 - 7:50 am 2:50 - 3:50 pm
Friday: 6:50 - 7:50 am 2:50 - 3:50 pm
Candidates must have good communication skills, be aware of physical surroundings with ability to respond accordingly, good physical mobility, vision, hearing, and an overall sense of responsibility for the safety of the children. Positions are typically two hours per day. Chosen applicants will be required to complete a two-hour online training session for certification, additional field training on site with an officer, and successful completion of a criminal background check.
